Last week, I had the amazing opportunity to attend Joshua Davis’ workshop “From Digital to Physical” at Anderson Ranch in Snowmass, CO. The idea behind the class was to take a simple concept – artwork in a grid, and to make complex and intricate illustrations using programming (in this case, we used Processing). It was very interesting and I am definitely going to play around with Processing a bit more. We output the designs we came up with then worked with the woodshop to carve them out on skateboards using a CNC Router. We also got to design some prints as well. Everyone in the class was awesome to work with and each brought a unique style and skill. Josh is an all-around cool guy and great teacher.
After class, Josh, myself, and some other kids from class hit up some of the skateparks around the area.
