In 2012, I had the amazing opportunity to attend Joshua Davis’ workshop for the first time “From Digital to Physical” at Anderson Ranch in Snowmass, CO. The idea behind the class was to take a simple concept – artwork within a grid, and modify the grid to make complex and intricate illustrations using programming (in this case, we used Processing). We output the designs and worked with the wood working department at the ranch to carve into skateboards using a CNC Router. We also output prints. Everyone in the class was awesome to work with and each brought a unique style and skill. Josh is an all-around cool guy and great teacher.
Colorado has some of the skateparks around in the United States. I can’t think of a better place to have art & skateboards come together.
